Midweek away day

Last Wednesday, inspired by a mention in the National Trust newsletter we went to Mottisfont near Romsey to see Kaffe Fassett’s Colour at Mottisfont exhibition. Four rooms, each colour themed showed needlepoint and knitting.

Thoroughly recommend this, here’s a selection of pictures:-

In spite of greyness and drizzle it was a good day, also bought this so called makeup bag in a Fassett design to store haberdashery when taking knitting and crochet out and about:-

As  DS and DiL live within reasonable driving distance we met up with them for lunch, a bit of child care, whilst grandparents went around the exhibition GS had a good run around the extensive grounds.

Of course no visit to a National Trust is complete without a visit to their secondhand bookshop, we found some children’s books, including one about trains for GS, can’t remember what they were, GS took them home.
